RISEN! Easter 2016

This is one of my favorite stage designs I’ve done for Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa for Easter 2016! Our theme this year was “Risen”, our graphic designer created something that would reflect the theme!  I love how he used bright colors and the brush strokes to create the branding for this event that was incorporated into banners, event cards, balloons and our recap video! We have a pretty amazing and talented team!

I usually start the design process by stopping by pinterest and start pinning things I feel inspired by and from there I start creating a sketch of what I want the stage to look like. Then with the help of the wood shop team we work on how the design it and the design is then brought to life! Obviously there are numerous planning meetings and times of trial and error but in the end the design always comes together! I LOVE the way this one came together!

Looking forward to next Easter!

Hosanna!

Hosanna

“The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ The King of Israel!””
John 12:12-13 NKJV

Apartment Inspiration

So excited to share some of our favorite details of our new apartment! All of our furniture has been in storage since our wedding so needless to say I’ve been itching to get into our new place and start decorating! We have so much more to do like buy a couch, an area rug, hang some art, and so much more but until then hope you enjoy these details!

DESIGN TIP FOR THOSE ON A BUDGET: Always check the “As Is” section at IKEA, we have found so many of our large key pieces of furniture here at a discount like our dining room table and chairs! Also, be sure to peruse the end caps in target, here is where a lot of the sale items are put! Happy bargain hunting!

New Logo by Thorn + Sparrow

YAY! I’m so excited about our new look and now finally the finishing touch… our bunny logo! I’m not much of an artist in the hand drawing/illustration sense of the word so I decided to ask my friend Ashley from Thorn + Sparrow to draw my bunny vision and make it come to life! Ash drew this awesome character and I was able to add the splash of color and text. I always know good things will come from a collaboration with Thorn + Sparrow. Like she said in her blog here “it’s creepy how alike our minds really are… so it didn’t take long for the vision for the illustration + logo to come together over just a few quick emails”. I hope you like it as much as we do!
