Awhile back I met Leo from Synced Culture,”A place where people are passionate about spiritual growth and dreaming up ways to create and explore unique avenues that share the love of Christ.” We discussed social media and our message we share to our community: “The love of Christ.” We also discussed how and why these two items are very important.

Why is social media important in today’s culture?

Social media is really important to me since my week, including my job, is tasked with doing social media and marketing for Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa  and I often discover how social media is the wave of the future for business and church growth. Back in the day, print was the most powerful way to market your business, and in some instances still is, but now the main and most efficient way to get your brand seen is through social media and word of mouth. You want to create a message, a lifestyle and a brand. Synced Culture allows those who have a passion for Jesus to connect via social media and share their testimonies and the gospel message through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the web!

The message we share with our community is the additional key component to Synced Culture. Why is this important? As I said above, social media is the most powerful way to reach people. According to estimates, the number of worldwide social media users reached 1.96 billion and is expected to grow to some 2.5 billion by 2018. Those are pretty huge numbers and the exact reason why we need to use it.  I’ve had numerous people, who don’t currently follow me on social media, tell me they’ve seen my Synced Culture posts by having different users share it on their platforms. The more people who share means that their followers will see the post and so on and so on, so that means that many more social users have the potential of hearing that message, encouraging word, and inspiration just shared.

Isaiah 55:11

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;

it shall not return to me empty,

but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,

and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Do something out of your comfort zone

I was asked if I would be interested in doing “Women Crushing It Wednesday, ” which is a broadcast with live Biblical teachings by women around the world who are crushing it for the kingdom. I was pretty nervous about it but felt like the Lord was telling me I had to get out of my comfort zone and do it, so I did. It’s not easy for me to speak in front of people, more often than not, it comes off really awkward, but I know I have some things I want to share with others. I stepped out in faith and did what God was prompting me to do.

I encourage you today to do something that makes you step outside your comfort zone. You never know whom it might encourage or inspire!
