Welcome Home Evelyn!

April 18, 2017 seemed like a normal day just four days from my due date I was ready for Evelyn to arrive! I deep cleaned the house and Josh and I went for a long walk around Balboa Island to see if we could get things moving along. I knew I wasn’t gonna have her early because everyone made sure they told me it wouldn’t happen since it was my first baby. We got home from our walk around 8:30pm, I filled out my birth plan paper work for the hospital and went to bed.

I was super worried about laboring at home and specifically remember praying before I went to bed that my water would break so I wouldn’t have to labor at home. Since she was my first baby most people said my water wouldn’t break and I would most definitely labor at home but I prayed anyways.

12am rolls around and for some reason I popped out of bed and stood up, right then my water breaks! I tell Josh my water had broken, he is startled and then goes back to sleep, I tell him again and he pops out of bed and proceeds to run around the house in a panic! He hadn’t packed his clothes but being a videographer he had already packed his camera gear to document the events!

We left for the hospital around 12:30am, once we arrive we were admitted and from there I labored for 10 hours before having an epidural. After receiving the epidural it was smooth sailing, and around 4:45pm I started pushing. This part of the labor was not painful but very tiring, I don’t think I’ve ever been so tired in my life but it was worth it, at 7:15pm Evelyn arrived April 19, 2017, she was 8 pounds!

It’s been 1 month since she was welcomed into this home and it’s been an adventure since! Each day she does something new and it’s magical to see her discover new things!

She is our greatest adventure!

Praying for her every day that she would use her gifts for the Lord and love Him all the days of her life.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
